Caroline Kuehn Bio

Born in Toronto Canada, Caroline Kuehn is a Singer-Actor-Comedienne-Writer-Director-Educator-YouTuber and performance enthusiast. Trained at the University of Toronto, the Universitaet fuer Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien, and the Cleveland Institute of Music, this versatile performer and entertainer began her career onstage as an operatic and concert performer. She has been thrilled to perform on many professional stages and Festivals in Europe, Canada, and the United States, while always maintaining a teaching and coaching practice that focuses on holistically enhancing the craft of performing, and building the artist's voice and performance confidence. Having expanded into theatre and eventually stand-up comedy, she is fascinated by the possibilities of the human body, and by the quirky things we humans do that make us laugh. As an educator, she is passionate about sharing her learnings, about helping her students step outside their comfort zone, to feel comfortable and confident as performers, and to discover and own their own voice as an artist. She has taught both Theatre and Music in the Public and Private School systems in Canada, has been on Faculty at the Inter-Community-School Zurich, as well as currently being on Faculty at the Zurich International School, Upper School. Backstage, she has taken on roles as director, co-director, assistant director, and co-music-director in various productions the last couple of years including: "Shrek: The Musical", "Anything Goes", "The Importance of Being Earnest", "And a Child Shall Lead", "The 39 Steps", "Alice in Wonderland", and "Grease". Caroline is excited to work with the students at Close Encounters Theatre.
